Heat Advisory

Today marks our third 90+ degree day in a row and tomorrow may be our hottest day yet. As such, Mayor Thomas M. Menino has issued a heat advisory for the City of Boston.

Area pools and cool-off centers are opened during the weekends and some nights (please click here for a listing and contact info).

Some quick tips for dealing with the heat: always drink plenty of water; wear loose, light-fitting clothing; avoid alcohol and caffeinated drinks (as they can cause dehydration); and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.

Also, if you have elderly neighbors or relatives, please check in on them during these hot snaps. The elderly are among the most susceptible to heat related injuries.
